Angola
Angola is located in the Center of Africa near Namibia and Zambia. It was founded in 1575 by Paulo Dias de Novais of Portugal. The capital is Luanda. Two famous landmarks there are the Armed Forces Museum at St. Miguel Fort, and the Mussulo Peninsula which has three islets. The country had an intense civil war from 1975 to 2002. With vast mineral and petroleum reserves, the country's economy has grown on average at a two-digit pace since the 1990s, and especially since the end of the civil war. Soccer is popular, and the national team is nicknamed The Black Antelopes. The Namibe province is known as the land of the Welwitschia Mirabilis. It is an amazing desert plant that looks like an octopus.
