Barbados
The island of Barbados are created by the the shifting of volcanic plates beneath the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is known as an island country in the Lesser Antilles. Over a period of time, two land masses were formed eventually joining together to form one island. Along the shore, natural caves witness to land formation resulting from waves lashing the shore. Animal Flower Cave is home to beautiful flowers and at times acts as a hideaway for whales. Though first settled by African-Indian tribes, British explorers discovered Barbados in 1625 ultimately claiming it for King James I. The country remained under British control until independence was granted in 1966.
