Guinea

Guinea, sometimes called Guinea-Conakry to distinguish it from its neighbour Guinea-Bissau, sits on Africa's west coast and is home to a number of abundant gold, diamond, and iron mines. It is known as the Switzerland of Africa, with a number of peaks, mountains, and plateaus. It also has many diverse cultures and languages. The capital, Conakry sits on the Atlantic Ocean, and the countries largest mountain, Mont Nimba, lies on the opposite end of the country. The Niger River cuts through the forests and jungles, dividing the country in half and creating waterfalls. Off the coast, near Conakry, are the Loos Islands, which are known for their beaches.
