Madagascar

The island nation of Madagascar, a country located in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Africa is the fourth largest island in the world. It offers up diverse wildlife and sprawling beaches to visitors each year. There are 70 varieties of lemur in this country, some of which can be found at Reserve Speciale De L'ankàrana, Parc National D'ankarafantsika, Parc National De L'Isalo, and Anja Reserve. One of the most popular beaches to visit for it's beautiful sunsets is Andilana beach. Southeastern trade winds and northwestern monsoon winds produce a hot rainy season from November to April. Timber, including rare species of Rosewood is exported to China for furniture manufacturing and musical instruments. Football, rugby and petanque, a French game similar to lawn bowling, are popular sports in this country.
