Myanmar, or also known as Burma, a country in South Asia and Southeast Asia, is home to some of the early civilizations of Southeast Asia. It boasts of international schools and colleges including Crane International School, Yangon International School, Myaungmya Education College, Myitkyina Education College, and the Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University. Rich in resources, there are a lot of landmarks and tourist spots in the country such as Hukawng Valley, Alaungdaw Kathapa National Park, Mount Popa, and Ngapali Beach located in the Rakhine state. April 17 is a national holiday for it is the day when Thingyan, or Myanmar New year, is celebrated. The Full Moon Waso is held every July 15 and the Full Moon of Thadingyut on October 12. Since 2008, the government has embarked on a series of reforms toward liberal democracy, mixed economy, and reconciliation of opposition groups.
