Poland

There are many historical sites in Poland, a country in Central Europe, bordered by Germany to the west; the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south; Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania to the east; and the Baltic Sea and Kaliningrad Oblast, a Russian exclave, to the north. In spite of the destruction done to the country in World War II, many of it's architectural and cultural landmarks have been preserved including the Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa, St. Roch's Church in Bialystok, 13th century Salt mine in Wieliczka, Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, and the Wooden Churches of Peace in both Swidnica and Jawor. Poland also boasts of educational institutions that offers quality education such as the Christian Theological Academy and the European Academy of Arts in Warszaw, and the Aleksander Gieysztor School of Humanities in Pultusk. The Polish banking sector is the largest in central and eastern Europe and the country is a leading producer of food in the European Union.
