Senegal

Senegal, a country in western Africa, is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, and Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south. The Fathala Reserve allows people to go on a mini-safari ride in their own vehicles. Often sited are rhinos, giraffes, antelopes, and thousands of birds. Main industries include food processing, mining, cement, artificial fertilizer, chemicals, textiles, refining imported petroleum, and tourism. The white sand beaches attract many tourists to the beach resorts located along the coast of the North Atlantic Ocean. Senegal is well known for the West African tradition of storytelling, which is done by griots, who have kept West African history alive for thousands of years through words and music.
