Suriname

Suriname, a country in northern South America bordered by French Guiana to the east, Guyana to the west, Brazil to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the north was a former colony of the British and Dutch. Tourists visit Suriname for their various natural reserves; they can view the biodiversity of the Amazonian rain forests as ell as the Central Suriname National Reserve. There are many waterfalls in the country including the Raleigh Falls, the Blanche Marie Falls and the Wonotobo Falls. Paramaribo, the nation’s capital, is home to their university, the University of Suriname, as well as other exhibits and research centres such as the Suriname Cultural Centre, where tropical research takes place. The country’s river; the Suriname River is in Paramaribo as well.
