Sweden
Sweden is located in Northern Europe on the Scandinavian Peninsula. It is the third largest country in the European Union. The architecture of Sweden is unique with a shift in the 13th century to the use of stone. The landscape of Sweden includes Romanesque churches and early Gothic examples such as Ystad, Malm? and Helsingborg. 16th and seventeenth examples of Baroque and Rococo still exist in the city of Karlskrona which is now a World Heritage Site. The Swedish monarchy is one of the oldest in Europe. The traditional engineering industry is still a major source of Swedish inventions, with the top tier of industry and business firms suppling the country with much if its wealth and holding many patents for technical inventions.
