Trinidad and Tobago
Birdwatchers and other nature enthusiasts visit the islands of Trinidad and Tobago in the southern Caribbean, lying just off the coast of northeastern Venezuela and south of Grenada in the Lesser Antilles. Yachting and boat enthusiasts are also attracted to the island. The various national parks in Trinidad and Tobago also are popular tourist spots. The country’s wildlife includes iguanas, snakes, different kinds of monkeys, such as howler monkeys, as well as caimans. The Carnival is a pre Lenten celebration featuring people who wear masquerade masks and dance to calypso songs. Petroleum exports have contributed to a growing economy in the islands in addition to citrus, cocoa and tourism.
